Parents should always make a point to immerse the child in an environment rich with fine music.  Listening to the recordings of the Suzuki repertoire establishes a model as well as provides ear training in memorizing the pitch and rhythm of what lies ahead.  Having the music available for your child in multiple locations makes it easier to gain confidence and inspriation in playing.  Have it playing at home, in the car, on an mp3 and on the computer!

Before embarking on this journey, parents and caregivers should have a good understanding of “Talent Education”.  The ‘traditional’ method of teaching and the Suzuki method ultimately merge and, YES, Suzuki students do read music!!!  Thousands of professionals musicians around the world received their early training in the philosophy of Talent Education or the Suzuki Method.  These professionals read music and have a great sense of musicality, too!  Please be sure to read:   ”Nurtured by Love” and “Ability Development” by Shinichi Suzuki for an introduction to the philosophy behind Talent Education.
